The Brooklyn-based grouping TV on the Radio mixes post-punk, electronic, and other atmoshperic elements in such a creative way that it only makes genius that its congress of Racial Equality duo, vocaliser Tunde Adebimpe and David Andrew Sitek, ar both visual artists as well as musicians. Adebimpe is a graduate of NYU's film school and specializes in stop-motion vitality, which his Brothers Quay-like painting for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs single "PIN number" demonstrates fully. He is likewise a painter, as is Sitek, wHO also produced the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Machine EP and their uncut Fever to Tell.

The couple met when Sitek touched into the edifice where Adebimpe had a loft; each of them had been transcription music on his own, just realised their sounds would make well together. Sitek's brother Jason began playing drums and other instruments with the mate during their recording sessions, which resulted in a self-titled, 24-track CD released by the Brooklyn Milk depression. Jason Sitek left wing the banding for a short fourth dimension due to other musical commitments simply returned to the dance orchestra when they recorded their Touch and Go debut, the Offspring Liars EP.

Afterward the EP was realised, TV on the Radio added guitarist/vocalist Kyp Malone to their fold. Offspring Liars, which likewise features the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Brian Chase and Nick Zinner, was released in summertime 2003 to critical clap, simultaneous with their gigs opening for the Fall. Their number one full-length button, Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes arrived in springtime 2004. The band remained busy for the rest of the year, embarking on their own tours as good as dates with the Faint and the Pixies. That fall, they released the Unexampled Health Rock EP and won the 2004 Shortlist Prize.

In 2005, the band kept in use with touring and returned to Sitek's Stay Gold studio to work on their second album. They likewise made an MP3 criticizing President George W. Bush, "Juiceless Drunk Emperor," available on their website. TV on the Radio signed with 4AD for European statistical distribution of their albums and affected to Interscope in the U.S. In summertime 2006 they resurfaced with Return to Cookie Mountain, a more than polished only still inquisitory collection of songs that featured David Bowie on patronage vocals.

Big Brother's Sylvia Stands Up For Evicted Dennis

Evicted Sylvia Barrie has spoken out in support for her disgraced former Big Brother housemate Dennis McHugh.
Barrie - who was voted off the show on Friday hours after Dennis was removed from the house for spitting at fellow contestant Mohamed Mohamed - says she still supports her “close friend”.
She tells The People, “I get it that he had to be removed but that doesn't change how I feel about him.
"I stand by Dennis. He's one of my closest friends. He was always a shoulder to cry on. He always put himself on the line for his friends."
The 21-year-old student goes on to brand Mohamed a “perv”.
“Perv, perv, perv. What more can I say? He made me feel sick,” she tells the paper.
"He told me he had a dream about me and we were 'frogging'. All that sexual innuendo...it was repulsive."

Here comes Aerosmith on Guitar Hero

Aerosmith fans can finally get their chance to step into the shoes of Steven Tyler and Joe Perry as video game developer Activision releases its Guitar Hero: Aerosmith game.

Dozens flocked to the Hard Rock restaurant in Times Square to see the legendary five-member rock band debut the game and try out the latest Guitar Hero addition.

Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford even brought his sons to take a look at the band's creation.

The game features 30 of the band's most notable hits such as Love in an Elevator and Sweet Emotion.

It also includes songs from various artists Aerosmith performed and collaborated with over the years, including Run DMC's Walk This Way and I Hate Myself for Loving You by Joan Jett.

There is even a special guitar controller emblazoned with the band's red-and-white logo for hard core fans.

The game and guitar controller bundle for Microsoft Corp's Xbox 360, Sony Corp's PlayStation3 and Nintendo Co Ltd's Wii sells for $US99.99, with an additional PlayStation2 version for $US89.99.

The game is also sold individually for each of the consoles and costs $US59.99 and $US49.99, respectively.

The Aerosmith game is the first Guitar Hero edition that focuses on an individual rock band.

The previous three versions of the game featured various rock music genres that ranged from grunge, classic rock, metal, punk and '80s hits.

"This is an experiment for us," said Charles Huang, co-founder of Activision's RedOctane unit, which oversees the Guitar Hero franchise.

"There are certain artists that have so much great music like Aerosmith, Metallica and Van Halen ... but we wanted to do something much bigger."

The Santa Monica, California-based company said Aerosmith's vast collection of rock hits and elite status in the music industry made the band the ideal choice for the new game.

"There's only a handful of bands that have that longevity," Huang said.

During the game's creation, band members spent two weeks performing in a motion capture studio in order for their video game figures to move exactly as the group performs on stage.

Activision is set to come out with a Metallica Guitar Hero edition in 2009, but declined to specify what month the game will be released.

The company will also release Guitar Hero: World Tour during the Christmas season, which will include a drum set and microphone in addition to the guitar controller.

This version will rival Activision's biggest competitor Rock Band, produced by Viacom Inc's MTV unit and Electronic Arts Inc.

Spinetta -- wide name Luis Alberto Spinetta -- is one of the nigh significant and influential figures in the development of sway music in Argentina. Renowned for his poetical lyrics, Spinetta emerged as a voice of john Rock & roll rebellion during a sentence of intense social unrest, couching taboo social and political commentary in subtle metaphors that much incurred the wrath of the Argentine politics. Taking the Beatles -- and John Lennon in particular -- as his musical base, Spinetta added his own South American hippy sensitivity early on, eventually branching kO'd into more progressive, rarify compositions steeped in nothingness concordance. He continued recording all the way into the new millennium, left a well-respected figure in his home nation.

Spinetta was born January 23, 1950, in Buenos Aires, and grew up in the Belgrano territory; he began vocalizing and playacting guitar at a young age, making his television debut at age 14. Charged by his first encounter with the Beatles, the 17-year-old Spinetta formed a band called Almendra in 1967. Their 1969 debut record album, Almendra I, basically wrote the commencement significant chapter of the history of Argentine rock, producing a immense hit in the Spinetta paper "Muchacha (Ojos de Papel)." After the 1970 followup, Almendra II, the group splintered, and Spinetta recorded a guest-laden solo project, La Busqueda de la Estrella, credited to Spinettalandia y Sus Amigos.

In 1972, Spinetta formed a unexampled group called Pescado Rabioso (Rabid Fish), a more aggressive stone outfit influenced by psychedelia and electrical blues-rock that produced some of his most groundbreaking ceremony work. The group recorded three albums over the socially roiled 1972-1973 period (the last, the acclaimed Artaud, was fundamentally a Spinetta solo album). In late 1973, Spinetta disbanded Pescado Rabioso and formed a raw grouping, Invisible, which marked a partial return to acoustic instruments and saw him commencement to contain malarky into his compositions. Additionally, his songwriting voice was ontogeny more provocative, and many Invisible songs came to be touchstones of the politically repressive times (indeed, both band and fans were sometimes captive after performances). As a pernicious material body of protestation, Spinetta's albums often featured nontextual matter by acquaintances world Health Organization disappeared under the Argentine totalitarianism.

After three albums from 1974-1976 with Invisible, Spinetta stepped out under his have describe on 1977's A 18 del Sol, forming a new backing band that entered full-fledged jazz-rock territory. For the reexamination, he traveled to the U.S. in 1979 and recorded Only Love Can Sustain, an uncharacteristic album of jazzy, glibly produced piano pop he has since disavowed. Returning to Argentina, Spinetta briefly reunited Almendra earlier forming a raw grouping, Spinetta Jade, his most musically progressive contrive to date. Four albums followed from 1980-1984, as well as a duo of solo platters. With the return of democracy to Argentina in the mid-'80s, Spinetta went solo one time over again and recorded prolifically from 1986-1991, including an aborted externalize with Charly García and a more successful collaborationism with the danton True Young Fito Paez.

Apart from the 1993 film soundtrack Fuego Gris, Spinetta remained tacit for some time; his marriage ceremony dissolved in 1996, and he was romantically joined to model Carolina Peleretti. He in conclusion returned in 1997 with a stripped -- in time static musically progressive -- group, los Socios del Desierto (The Partners of the Desert); they released a self-titled debut and an MTV Unplugged installment that twelvemonth. San Cristóforo followed in 1998, as did the introverted Los Ojos in 1999. The solo project Silver Sorgo, featuring comment on the Argentine economic crisis, was released in 2001, earning Spinetta iI Latin Grammy nominations (C. H. Best Solo Rock Album and Best Rock Song, the latter for "El Enemigo").
